Thank you for visiting my site. My home is in West Wales, and my Stud Name is Keltskaya, which means "Celtic" in Russian, the perfect prefix for these amazing Tsvetnaya Bolonka who live with me in West Wales.
My aim is to raise exceptional Bolonki in a loving and caring environment. Dedicated to following a responsible breeding program, my focus is on keeping my dogs healthy and happy and raising pedigree, Breed Standard, registered dogs.
A Quality Dog Breeder
I'm Angela Rickard, born & bred in Pembrokeshire, West Wales. I spent a number of years in Eastern Australia and upon my return, opened an Award-Winning Licensed Doggy Daycare and Home Boarding establishment with a Grooming Salon (Ponderosa Pet Services) at my home, Ponderosa on the outskirts of Haverfordwest in Pembrokeshire.
I fell in love with the Bolonka a few years ago and now share my home and life with a number of these charming, loveable dogs.
I am a boutique breeder, with five adult bitches and three stud dogs. My focus is on producing healthy, well tempered, quality Bolonka and helping to make them a recognised breed here in the UK. My dogs are my life, and puppies are raised in my wonderful home environment, with the aim on making the transition from my loving home to yours as easy as possible. All of my dogs are top quality pedigree (many with Champion bloodlines), registered with the Irish Kennel Club. They're all Health Checked annually and DNA tested. I strive to breed the best Bolonka pups I can, and will educate their new owners to ensure these precious creatures get the love, care and attention they deserve, with a life time of support available. What is a Bolonka?
The Bolonka, also known as the Zwetna Bolonka and Russkaya Tsvetnaya Bolonka is still a rare breed here in the UK, with around 200 dogs in the country. They are a small dog, playful, loving and inquisitive.
Russkaya Tsvetnaya Bolonka translates to "Russian Colored Lapdog." Bolonki were originally bred to be the ultimate house pet for apartment living. Sweet, loving, intelligent, and willing to please, they are friendly to all and shows no sign of aggression.
The Russian Tsvetnaya Bolonka, or Bolonka for short, is a member of the Bichon family that was almost extinct until after the Cold War. It is a small companion dog that is hypoallergenic, funny, clever beyond words and intensely loyal to its family. Some are excellent mimics; others are content to sit by the door and monitor who is allowed in or out. Spirited, yet easy-going and sociable, the Russian Tsvetnaya Bolonka is great with children. Although they are quick to alert, they will not be a constant barker with early training on appropriate behavior. They are fairly independent for a toy breed and require early socialization with people. However, Bolonki do get along well with dogs and other animals. Very clever and smart, they do well in formal training such as obedience, rally, tracking and agility when trained with a firm, but gentle, hand.

I continue to care about my dogs and their puppies long after they leave me. As such, it’s my strict policy to adhere to UK legislation (Lucy's Law) and only sell to loving forever homes.
